About Us

AWANA stands for: Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.  It comes from 2 Timothy 2:15, which says, “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Our primary goals are to reach boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. We use motivational teaching strategies that inspire kids to want to learn, but please don’t think Awana is “night school” for youth.  It’s definitely not!  Each night includes fun games, activities, and brief lessons. We offer spirit nights and prizes to provide a sense of unity and fellowship among our leaders and clubbers. It’s a wonderful time of fellowship.

The program does motivate kids in a very fun way to want to hide God’s Word in their hearts.  We want to facilitate the conversion Paul talks about in 2 Corinthians 5:17 when he writes, ““Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”  That comes by hearing and reflecting on the Word.

The Awana Club at MABC is divided into four groups:
Cubbies, Sparks, Truth & Training, and Student Leaders.

Cubbies is for children, ages 3 to 4 years.

Sparks is for children in K (kindergarten), First, or Second grade.

T&T (Truth and Training) is for kids in 3rd to 6th grade.

SLs (Student Leaders) is for kids in 7th-12th grades.

Our Awana evening is comprised of three sessions: Game Time, Counsel Time, and Small Group Time. Children enjoy snacks, compete for prizes, have lots of fun, and learn God’s Word!  What could possibly be funner? Come see what all the excitement is about…

Please Contact Us with any questions.  We look forward to seeing you.
